About Us

At Life Tabernacle in Porterville, we are dedicated to proclaiming the atoning work of Jesus Christ and the life-transforming power of His grace. We believe that salvation is a gift obtained by grace through faith, alongside obedience to the Word of God (Ephesians 2:8-9). Central to our faith is adherence to the Biblical plan of salvation as outlined in Acts 2:38. In accordance with the commandment of Jesus Christ (Matthew 28:19) and the practice of His apostles (Acts 2:38, Acts 8:16, Acts 10:48, Acts 19:5, Acts 22:16), we baptize by immersion in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sins. We also embrace the infilling of the Holy Spirit, with the evidence of speaking in other tongues (Acts 2:4), as an essential element of salvation. Under the leadership of Pastor Steve Marchbanks, we strive to build a community centered on faith, obedience, and the power of the Holy Spirit.
